As some readers of this blog may know, I am a member of the Women and Incarceration Project. Located in the Center for Women’s Health and Human Rights at Suffolk University, we are group of academics, social workers and friends who came together in opposition to plans to build a new women’s prison in Massachusetts.
As more women stand to become criminalized in the wake of the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v Wade, we are committed to highlighting connections between incarceration of women and attacks on women’s reproductive freedom.
Since our first meeting, we have written research reports and published op eds that we hope will be useful to activists, advocates, journalists and policy-makers concerned about women’s freedom, health and rights.
